DISSOLUTION OF THE ARLINGTON HEIGHTS CITIZEN POLICE ACADEMY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION (AHCPAAA)

SPECIAL MEETING DECISION

NOVEMBER 29, 2012

On November 29, 2012, at Olympic Park Swim Center, president Roylene Gallas, in the presence of AHCPAAA members William Berry, Sr., and Sue Ellen Cleary, opened the sealed envelopes and tallied the votes cast by mail for or against the dissolution of the Arlington Heights Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association.  A total of 61 votes were cast.  The vote to dissolve the AHCPAAA carried by a total of 59 votes “FOR” to two (2) votes “AGAINST.”

The process to dissolve a non-profit organization in Illinois is simple, but lengthy.  Dissolution paperwork must first be filed with the Illinois Secretary of State’s office.  Once that Secretary of State has cleared the AHCPAAA to move forward, the appropriate paperwork will be filed with the Illinois Attorney General’s Office, the Illinois Charitable Trust Division, and the Internal Revenue Service with the filing of the AHCPAAA’s final Form 990 tax return. This entire process can take anywhere between three to six months and has been initiated.

We thank you for your patience during this time.
